I have somewhat challenged teeth & gums mostly. Periodontal disease kind of runs in my family though I do eat very, very clean etc as a holistic person. Anyway, I noticed 1 evening when I went to bed that I started to get a pain in 1 of my molars. It was like I could almost feel something coming on & thought "oh no." :( The next day I woke & the pain seemed to be increasing a bit. That evening - same thing more pain (it always seems worse at night), to the point that pressing on the corner of my tooth was very painful. I woke up in the middle of the night with a slight pounding of pain like a tooth ache. Even worse. The next day, even eating a tortilla chip or anything hard was difficult. I do not have dental insurance so this is always a big worry as money is all being put into my new business. Anyway, with pain increasing and me worrying, It came into my mind to start taking the little tin of shilajit that I had ordered a month before but hadn't started using. I started very slowly with a tiny dosage and continued like that for a few days. After only 2 or 3 days max, the tooth pain had completely disappeared! I was able to eat on it, sleep with no problems etc. etc. It was "miraculous." Personally, I feel that most likely I am lacking minerals which I feel many Americans are in their diet. But absorbable ones. I wanted to share my story because this product was and IS such a "god-send" literally. You know how bad tooth pain can be if you have ever experienced that. I continue to take it and have been doubling the dosage with good results of energy and more clarity (and no tooth or gum pain since that first incidence).. I want to start recommending this product to my clients as I am an integrative yoga therapist working with private & semi private clients. This is a special product and I like that I can trust the quality of this product and company. I received excellent service with all questions answered. The product is worth every penny! If I could give this product more stars I would. I usually do not leave reviews, but this one has changed my life in so many ways that It is only fair that I share this experience with others.

It was hard to decide which brand/producer to trust when I was ordering my first Shilajit. I realized that there were many producers out there who did false advertisement. I almost gave up on ordering one as I did not want to take anything I was not certain to be clean and genuine and ethically produced.
First, after reading about shilajit on different sources, I decided that powder and other forms are too risky to buy and decided to go with the resin form. Looking for resin only form; I stumbled upon Lotus Blooming Herbs website. I saw that the criteria the producer himself had written to understand a true Shilajit matched those in independent sources and decided to try it.

Once I took it; I did not even need the smell or the form to know that this is true! I was suffering from low energy; I would drink so much coffee and still fall asleep or drag myself around. I often felt sick and did not have much motivation to go on with my days. I know that effects vary from person to person; but for me after taking it for the first time it worked like a wonder! It was the first day in a long time I felt an uplifting energy throughout my day. As days passed and I continued taking it; I realized the effects were cumulative. I started feeling not just more energetic but also more inspired, my creativity increased. I stopped feeling sick.
When my roommate was feeling sick I made her herbal teas with Shilajit and she was up and about in two days. She also has been taking it ever since. I introduced Shilajit by Lotus Blooming Herbs to my family and my close friends and it has become a part of their routine. I trust this brand with my life.

I cannot express enough gratitude the producer for all their hard work to bring us real authentic Shilajit.

Another note: I find it to be most effective to take is on empty stomach in the morning in a small glass (or an espresso cup) mixed in warm/hot water with a tea spoonful of honey and coconut oil. ( Please remember that these things vary from person to person you may have to experiment and find what works best for you)

I just got to start with I LOVE THIS PRODUCT SO MUCH!!!
Authentic Shilajit is genuine in every possible way. I have tried many shilajit brands and found this brand to surpass my expectations and I am glad I bought this. Bought my tin at moon juice venice and although the price there may be higher, supporting local business is also consciously guided. The Shilajit is a sticky, near-gummy, slightly gooey, pliable, tar-substance that seeps out of rocks during the summer times in the Himalayas, that means it shimmers from a distance. The owner explains so himself, and who is also totally cool.
The taste is the equivalent to a strong bitter coffee: envision blue bottle coffee without sweeteners and slightly more bitter. This is Shilajit's flavor.The Shilajit is known to have five grades and every grade varies by ethnographic regions. This Shilajit is at an altitude of over 16000 ft, that means it has very little contact with animals and other invasive creatures, and is pure source. Shilajit is documented to contain over 85 trace minerals, di-benzo pyrones, some vitamins, oils, and active enzymes. It goes through purification and is always tested for pathogens and other contaminants: those results are always impressively clean.
The Shilajit is 10g (grams) about the size of a small play-doh clay or two grapes put together, and is packaged in clear BPA free, lab quality plastic container. If you think about it, HDPE containers are not known for leaching as other generic plastic containers. The tin cases the plastic pod (the Shilajit never makes contact with the tin) and every tin is stamped with a manufacturing date. This means that they package using CGMP which is like an audit to make sure the Shilajit is clean, safe, and carefully put together.
The effects: clearing of sight, energy, sexual drive, increase workout potential, restful sleep when taken during the morning and effect wearing off at night, increased focus, and hair growth. The nice aspect about this product is that it is not the cheap stuff sold as himalayan shilajit and definitely not a powder. I have consumed more supplements than any normal person has ever lol but all shilajit that I have tried have paled in comparison to this one. Plus the owner is down to earth, realistic and does not second guess his costumers. Just down to earth friendliness like it should be.
Basically, this product worked for me in like two weeks, at a lentil size per day under my tongue or in a little water. I have witnessed better skin, focus, and stress reduction. I can also do more yoga and exercise more. This is my life saver and I have been consuming this product since 2012. Keep up the good work Johann, we are blessed to have this treasure.

PS if you don't like the flavor, add cacao powder, milk, and honey. Keeps well in a cool place and does not need refrigeration.

 really loved this supplement, but moved on...

***Note... Quick update: I still take this when I feel a bit 'dodgy' along with other natural supplements, but I have moved on to other products (not available on Amazon). There is no negative reason for this, but I found some products that give me better results overall for immune support and energy. I still highly recommend giving this a try!

This is going to be a long review - I'll break it up in sections so anyone who reads it can skip the parts that aren't relevant to them.

**Tried 3 different brands**
I started taking this in mid-October 2014. I'm addicted to this and for good reason. First let me say that I have also tried PurBlack brand and one on Etsy that was very cheap. All 3 smelled the same, had the same taste, and had the same daily results for me. I had all 3 at the same time and rotated them throughout the week to see if I could tell a difference. I couldn't. I won't buy the cheap version again, as I'm worried about why it's so cheap (I'm paranoid). I prefer the one from Lotus Herbs because of the consistency. It's easier to handle. I can get a small amount out, roll it in a ball and swallow it like a pill. With PurBlack, I have to dissolve it in water; consistency is a bit different, gooier. It's not a big deal, but it takes 10-15 minutes and I'm usually in a hurry. I take it on am empty stomach in the morning, with other supplements (right now, fermented cod liver oil/butter oil blend, MegaFoods multi, and a couple times a week I add triphala and turmeric).

**Initial reaction when taken**
I am a highly sensitive person - that means that heat, coffee, medicine, supplements, and food seem to have a greater impact (usually negative) on me than others. That is important to know, because when I shared some of the supplement with 4 other people, no one else had my same reaction. They had a small reaction of overall feeling better, but nothing like I experienced. I started with PurBlack and my initial response as rather euphoric - it was seriously so magical that even though it tasted and smelled terrible I was drawn to it and wanted more all day long (I limited myself to 1-2 servings). I couldn't believe how amazing I felt right after I took it. I had energy boost, and I just felt alive and amazing.

**Background**
A bit of background (feel free to skip); I work about 60 hours a week, working on my doctoral degree, I have twin preschoolers, and far too many interests and hobbies - I am one of those people who loves doing things; I rarely sit down to relax, no time for TV watching, etc. But I have been struggling to keep up with myself for the last 5 years. I never fully 'recovered' from having twins in 2011 - I've been exhausted ever since I was first pregnant and I knew my mineral levels were likely very low as I had a very rough pregnancy. I also had a very poor diet (lots of sugar and fast food) until the twins were born. Afterwards, I learned about proper nutrition, which changed my life (and my family's), but I still needed something to help. I entered the world of natural supplements and homeopathy around 2012. I love to experiment. I have explored so many different supplements, remedies, Paleo, whole foods, juicing, smoothies, etc. It's all wonderful, and eating as many veggies as possible really helped me feel so much better, but I still didn't feel 100%.

**What it has done for me**
Besides giving me the energy boost that I really needed (w/no crash), it has helped with my blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia), psoriasis, boost in my mood, boost in my immune system in a huge way, I have better focus, clarity, and feel 'alive' or 'whole' - I'm not quite sure how to explain that last part. I feel like I'm functioning at 100% or at least near it on my bad days. I have struggled with hypoglycemia ever since I can remember. I've never been treated for it, but try to manage it on my own. I am sensitive to sugar, so when I don't eat well, my mood suffers (I turn into a grouchy monster), I get tired/crash, and feel weak/shaky. It happens if I have too much coffee (usually more than 1 cup) or anything that is a stimulant. If I don't eat very well (mostly organic produce, with some grass-fed/pastured meats) I suffer with signs of hypoglycemia. If I take shilajit first thing in the morning, I can eat whatever I want and have 2 pots of coffee (terrible, I know) without feeling any bad effects related to hypoglycemia. I have not been eating that well since I started on shilajit, as I like to use the holidays as an excuse to eat whatever I want ;) I have started eating better recently and looking forward to seeing what shilajit will do with a better diet. However, thanks to shilajit, I haven't suffered due to eating poorly (not much produce and too much pizza).

The 2nd biggest reason why I can't live without it is the boost it's given my immune system. I was eating well until I got lazy a year ago, and started eating poorly. I ended up getting ill more times in 2014 than I have in nearly my entire adulthood (I'm in my late 30s). Part of that is having 2 young children who go to school who bring home a lot of germs :) I work from home, so I don't have to don't get exposure from work. In 2014, I had the flu 2-3 times, several head colds, I ended up with bronchitis 3 times (never had it prior), etc. Since taking shilajit, the girls have been sick multiple times. If I get sick, I will have maybe one day where I don't feel great (a bit run down), but recover quickly. A couple weeks ago both of my girls were fairly sick, and I woke up one morning with a raw/swollen throat. The next day my throat was better, but I had a very mild cold. It last for one day. The biggest difference is that I still have clarity and focus, unlike in the past where having a cold would really impact that area and make it difficult to work.

**Why I can't stop taking it**
I tried to stop a couple of times - it's expensive! I don't like being dependent on any type of supplement. I just like to experiment and move on. However, for me, this is the most important supplement I take and I'll take it as long as I can afford it. On the days I tried to stop, I felt jittery from having more than 1 cup of coffee, I had hypoglycemic episodes, I felt 'okay' but not 100%. It's not worth it for me to stop, the negative effects of not taking this are too great for me.

**Advice for others**
I asked others to try this and some felt a mild effect, but no one thought it was worth the money and they couldn't stand the taste and smell (not that you really taste it as you aren't chewing on it). For me it's a life changer, but none of the other people that tried it are like me - they don't have the same issues that I do. So this may or may not be a 'magical' supplement for you - you will have to be willing to spend the money in order to try it out for yourself.

Also, that euphoric-like feeling wore off after 3 months. One day it just stopped. I only had this product (Lotus Herbs) at the time, so I quickly bought PurBlack to see if that would give me the 'feeling' again. It didn't. So I tried to quit altogether, thinking that it no longer was working for me, and got the same aforementioned negative results (sensitivity issues). I know it's still working, but I also know that I may never get that 'magical' feeling again. That was just a bonus effect, so I'm okay with that, though it was wonderful while it lasted.

**Bottom line**
I cannot live without this supplement, but it's certainly not for everyone. Just like all natural supplements - some are 'magical' and many do nothing, even if 'everyone else' swears by them. You have to find what your body needs and you will know it when you find it.

It seems that Shilajit does not need additional reviewing or recommendation it is that well respected and its benefits are well exposed in this blog.
